Stay Alert - Scammers Are Impersonating CCCU Employees

We need your help! Despite the the security and protections we have in place to keep your money safe at CCCU, the scammers can still access your funds if you give them your account information. There is a current fraud ring in the Valley targeting many local credit unions and banks, and they can also impersonate CCCU employees over the phone or via text and email.

Stay cautious and question every link or email that you receive from a financial institution. We will never ask you to provide your personal log in, PIN, security or access codes – those are YOUR private details designed to keep you safe, and your financial institution does not need them. The scammers do, and they are targeting our members by calling to acquire account information and login credentials.

If You Get a Text or Call…

If you receive a text message that contains a link which shows it is from Clark County Credit Union, please do not click on the link or answer the text message. Block the sender and delete the text message. If you did click on the link and accessed it, do not provide any account information, including your online banking username and password.

If you receive a text message claiming to be from CCCU asking you to log in, please call into service at 702-228-2228 and inquire further. Scammers are using these links to obtain account information and login credentials from our members. 

If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be from the Clark County Credit Union Fraud Department or Service Department regarding recent fraud on your account, please do not provide any account information or your online banking username or password to the caller. Hang up the phone and call CCCU Member Services at 702-228-2228 to verify if there is any fraud on your account.

Russell T. has been a Clark County Resident and a CCCU Member for 17 years. Three Tips for Navigating Your Medicare Plan

Medicare fraud is one of the most common scams in the healthcare industry resulting in higher premium costs for services and/or supplies. In support of celebrating the National Report Medicare Fraud Day on September 12^th, CCCU is sharing important tips to combat Medicare fraud and a no-cost member resource to help you select the Medicare program that’s best for you!

1. Keep your Medicare number secure

Never share any personal information including your Medicare number with strangers. Treat it like your Social Security number or credit card number. If someone asks to verify Medicare information over the phone and/or offers a benefit plan, and you did not initiate the call, hang up and report it. You can report suspected cases of Medicare abuse or scams by calling Medicare at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or visit www.medicare.gov. 

2. Watch out for incorrect billing

Even with good intentions, billing errors can happen with your medical providers. Some have reported being charged for a doctor’s visit that never occurred or a medical device that they never ordered. It’s good practice to periodically check your summary statements, especially after doctor appointments to ensure you are charged correctly.

3. Get help signing up and selecting your Medicare options
