Congratulations to Sandra S., our first-place photo winner for the 2026 CCCU Calendar Contest! Sandra has called Clark County home for over 31 years and has been a proud CCCU member for more than a decade. She said, “I initially joined CCCU because I wanted a smaller institution that felt more like family and that I could trust. I worked as a bank teller in college and CCCU feels a lot like the bank that I worked for!”
When asked what makes CCCU stand out from other banks or credit unions, Sandra shared, “The customer service is excellent. I like that the employees recognize me and say hello, and I don't feel like a number like I did with the conventional banks.”
Sandra says, “I often recommend CCCU to others for the customer service and competitive interest rates. I also enjoy the points program and of course the photo competition!”
Photography is one of Sandra’s passions, and her winning image came from a spontaneous moment in nature. “I love that we have so many great landscape and wildlife opportunities here in Nevada,” she said. I decided to go to the Valley of Fire one day because I wanted to hike at White Domes where there is a slot canyon. The timing was perfect as there were many bighorn sheep gathered around near the exit of the slot canyon and I was able to capture a few memorable shots, this being one of them, with their silhouettes against the huge, magnificent sky. These opportunities are exciting because they cannot be planned, and you have to think and act quickly because the light changes very rapidly at sunrise and sunset. I love to share my photos and promote Nevada and thank you, CCCU for giving me the opportunity to do both!”
Thank you, Sandra, for being such a valued part of CCCU and congratulations on your winning photo!
