Members Since 2017: John and Renee D.

John and Renee D. have been Clark County residents since 1970 and have spent their careers as professional entertainers, still performing shows monthly. After hearing about Clark County Credit Union (CCCU) several years ago, they decided to give it a try. "CCCU was the only bank that accepted and cashed unrolled coins and change," John shared, "so we opened our most recent account in 2023 and also purchased a CD in 2024. The interest on the CD was great, and best of all, there were NO hassles!"

When it came time to buy a new car recently, John and Renee initially reached out to several lenders. "We quickly learned that the process would take several days, with a high interest rate," John explained. As 2024 comes to a close, we’re proud to reflect on a year filled with giving, growth and connection. Thanks to the support of our members, employees and community partners, CCCU has once again made a lasting impact in Southern Nevada. This year, our staff was able to volunteer 745 hours of community service to groups such as:

• Clark County Foster Care – we donated a total of $1,200 and thousands of diapers and wipes to help families get baby supplies they need.
• Goodie 2 Shoes – 13 CCCU employees helped the foundation reach its milestone of outfitting 140,000 Southern Nevada children since 2003.
• CCCU’s Smart Start Scholarship – awarded 10 student members with a $1,000 scholarship going towards their higher education.
• Back-to-School Supply Drive – our credit union collected over 6,500 school supplies and donated to four title 1 schools.
• CCCU’s Level Up Event – all CCCU employees took part in four different community service projects that made a direct impact to American Lung Association, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, Lighthouse Charities and Three Square Food Bank.
• Candlelighters – CCCU supported the foundation’s Trunk or Treat Halloween event to bring joy to children and families affected by childhood cancer with a fun-filled trunk-or-treat experience.
• AHEAD Grants – CCCU facilitated two $100,000 AHEAD grants: one supporting Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation's education and life skills programs, and another aiding Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth’s job sustainability initiatives.
• Santa Cops – CCCU volunteers teamed up with police officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation to take 200 kids to Walmart and 66 kids to Macy’s for $150 shopping sprees to choose their gifts.
