Protecting your home and family is at the heart of CCCU’s mission and we’re proud to highlight our partnership with one of our key member groups: firefighters. CCCU is raising awareness for Fire Prevention Month this October and amplifying an important safety message from the Southern Nevada Burn Foundation.

Led by active firefighters, the foundation exists to support burn survivors, their families, and the local community. Through fundraising and outreach, they help children attend burn camps, receive counseling, and reintegrate socially and emotionally after traumatic burns. The foundation also provides immediate assistance after fires, raises awareness on fire and life safety, and organizes holiday toy drives for affected children.

“We see the impact of home fires firsthand," said Captain Erlantz, Burn Foundation Spokesperson. “Electrical fires often start where we least expect them - at overloaded outlets. Following the ‘one outlet, one plug’ rule helps stop overheating and failure. Stay mindful of what’s plugged in and make a habit of unplugging devices when they’re not needed.”

Erlantz M. is a Clark County native and has proudly served with the Clark County Fire Department for 14 years. He became a CCCU member in 2015.

Supporting Casa de Luz & Project Dot

Clark County Credit Union was excited to join the 10th annual United Way of Southern Nevada’s Day of Caring, dedicating a day to giving back to our local community. This year, CCCU worked with two incredible nonprofit organizations: Casa de Luz and Project Dot.

Casa de Luz is a community resource center that provides food, education, and support services to families in need. CCCU volunteers spent the morning putting together hygiene kits, organizing and cleaning the food pantry and youth center and packing food bags for students.  

Project Dot is dedicated to supporting homeless and under-resourced teens by providing access to menstrual products and education. In the afternoon, volunteers assembled 567 feminine hygiene kits, helping bring comfort, dignity, and confidence to teens in Southern Nevada who face challenges accessing these essential products.  

Through this Day of Caring, 13 CCCU employes provided a total of 32 hours of service. We are grateful for the chance to give back and proud to support the important missions of Casa de Luz and Project Dot.
