 At our last CCCU Cares event, 13 CCCU employees volunteered with Goodie Two Shoes for their monthly shoe distribution event at Oran K. Gragson Elementary School. Volunteers helped outfit 467 students with a new pair of shoes and socks. During this event, our team helped the foundation reach its milestone of outfitting 140,000 Southern Nevada children since 2003!

Goodie Two Shoes Foundation provides disadvantaged children and children in crisis with a new pair of shoes and socks. The foundation also supports children’s health and development by providing personal hygiene kits.

In a world where technology and the internet play a significant role in our daily tasks and activities, how can you avoid being tricked by scammers? Securing and protecting your data is crucial. Here are some tips to protect your personal financial information:

• Never discuss account numbers, PINs or other personal information with anyone who contacts you, even if they say they’re from your credit union or bank. Pause and ask yourself, “Why would this person need that information?”
• If the person claiming a problem with your account needs to verify your account information, hang up and call the institution immediately!
• Never call the number provided in a text, email or voicemail. Those numbers can easily be duplicated or spoofed by scammers. Always look up the number listed on your debit or credit card or go to the company website.
• Don’t click on links from texts or emails from people you don’t know, even if they seem to be from a legitimate business. These links can be deceiving and direct you to a fraudulent site or expose your device to malware.
• Your credit union or bank will never ask you to send money to yourself or anyone else.

Calderon Medical Group Internal Medicine Physician Ben C., Member since 2015

A member of Clark County Credit Union for the past ten years, Ben C. is an Internal Medicine Physician with Calderon Medical Group.  “Calderon Medical Group has been serving our community for over 15 years while being in practice for over 20,” he said.  “We are a family-run, family-owned, outpatient primary care clinic.”

Ben recommends Clark County Credit Union to others and said, “Being a small business owner, we value relationships the most. CCCU has been a great partner and advocate for our needs and I am certain for other small businesses as well.”

Outside of work Ben enjoys playing golf. When he’s not seeing patients, he said he is “passionate about golf, good food and my children, not necessarily in that order.”
