The group came to learn more about CCCU’s methods of consumer loan marketing to local communities, how to add services to existing members and to find ways to apply these strategies in their own local credit unions. 
 

Hosted by CCCU CEO Matt Kershaw and CMO Mark Andrews, the visit included a multi-media presentation and discussion of CCCU methods of communicating to the credit unions’ more than 43,000 members.
 

“Our Korean guests were especially interested in the bonus dividend that CCCU has provided over the last 16 years, amounting to more than $56 million,” said Kershaw. “We also discussed credit union governance; in contrast to our elected/unpaid board of directors, the Korean credit unions are governed by paid directors who must be employees of the credit union and work on site as professional credit union managers.”
 

As a gift from CCCU, each Korean CEO received a personalized and signed copy of a recently published book titled, “Under the Cottonwoods,” from the Springs Preserve (a CCCU designated membership group associated with the Las Vegas Valley Water District). 
 

This gift was especially meaningful since much of the book’s photography of the Spring’s landscaping and surrounding grounds was done by Andrews, who has been with CCCU since 1997. He is an Emmy-award winning photographer known throughout the southwest for his depictions of the desert landscape.
