Member Dan T. Still Carries His Original 1981 CCCU ID Card Dan T., the Director of Human Resources for the City of Las Vegas, is proud to represent CCCU. So much so that he still carries his original CCCU ID card, issued in 1981. He recently showed his card to our own Director of Business Development, Craig Fraley, at the government employee health fair this year. “I always show off my CCCU card because it’s one of those things that makes me feel happy, almost like it’s my lucky penny,” Dan said. “It makes me feel homegrown, like I’m a part of Las Vegas just like CCCU.” Dan joined CCCU when he was employed at Nevada Memorial Hospital, which is now UMC. He joined during a benefits fair and received his original membership ID card on the spot. “They had a credit union representative at the benefits orientation, so I went and got my card processed,” Dan said. “I still remember that day because they accidentally left off the last number, and the representative just wrote it in.” Dan loves his credit union and talks up CCCU constantly. He especially enjoys being a member owner of the credit union, which makes him feel part of his local community. “I tell people all the time - it’s better to bank with CCCU since you’re the owner,” Dan said. “There’s just something about the organization: it’s small, homegrown, and you’re a part of it.”
Dan has financed car loans through CCCU, opened accounts for his daughters, and helped them purchase vehicles through our Member’s Auto Brokerage as well. He loves the fact that he can visit his branch right off Windmill and see the vehicles they have for sale right on the lot. “My daughter just recently purchased a car from Members Auto - she got a really great rate too,” Dan said. “I tell everyone the same story - everything from the convenient dealership to the friendly service, they’re just so accommodating at CCCU. Clark County Credit Union is Las Vegas.” From all of us here at CCCU, thank you Dan for being such a valued long-time member. We are proud to have local, homegrown members like you in our CCCU Family!

Best Credit Union in Nevada At Clark County Credit Union, we are excited to have been recently named the best credit union in Nevada by Forbes in their second annual Best in State awards. Our credit union is 1 of only 182 credit unions across the country that qualified for this prestigious designation, and those only account for 3.1% of U.S. financial institutions. Forbes worked with Statista, a market research firm, to survey 25,000 people regarding their banking relationships. They were asked about many different aspects of banking, such as the level of trust they have in their financial institution, the quality of the financial advice they have received and their opinion of the branch and online services. When Clark County Credit Union received this exceptional ranking, Chief Executive Officer Matt Kershaw, said, “We are honored to be named the top credit union in Nevada and thankful to our loyal members who endorse their credit union as the best. Every decision we make is to better our organization and to help our Member-Owners. They are not customers – they are the sole reason we are in business. Only three credit unions were ranked in all of Nevada for the Forbes Best in State list, and we are proud to represent our great state in this way.” This honored designation on Forbes’s Best in State list exemplifies the commitment that Clark County Credit Union has to help members save more money and time. We offer personalized service that adapts to wherever life takes you. We are always there to help guide you through any changes you experience in your financial life.

Helping Children in Southern Nevada: CCCU's New Employee Volunteer Program CCCU Cares is Clark County Credit Union’s newly founded community involvement program dedicated to helping children in Southern Nevada, especially through non-profits that focus on children and the medical community. The CCCU Cares committee is led by a team of employees that represent all departments and locations. They help select organizations to support through volunteer hours and other credit union resources. The CCCU Cares slogan, “If you see a need, take the lead,” reflects the group’s core values of Caring, Community, Compassion and Unity. As children and parents get ready to go back to school next week, CCCU Cares held a school supply drive to support Keller Elementary school, named after former Sheriff Jerry Keller and his wife Charlotte. With more than 100 homeless students enrolled at Keller Elementary School, it was a great experience to collect much-needed school supplies. All six of our branches collected supplies and funds to help the school. In addition to ten huge containers of supplies, our committee surprised the teachers of Keller Elementary with a check for $1,500 to help them replace failing classroom equipment. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is another charity CCCU Cares partnered with earlier this year. This past May, more than 70 employees and family members participated in the 15th Annual RMHC Runnin’ for the House 5K Run & Fun walk. In our first year attending this event, the CCCU Cares team was the largest team! Every step of the race helps RMHC families stay close to their sick or injured children. In addition to these efforts, our members will see our continued commitment to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). CCCU Cares supports CMN and their efforts to raise funds for children’s hospitals, medical research, and health issues. To keep up with all of the CCCU Cares events and to join in our efforts, please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. As valued members of CCCU, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to make a difference in your community.
