Meet Clark County Credit Union's FRAMLiance Team
|
|
|
The Fraud and Anti-Money Laundering and Compliance department, aka FRAMLiance Team, ensures CCCU follows policies, regulations, and laws which ultimately helps protect our members from fraud. In addition, they research trending check fraud and online scams in order to stay one step ahead of the fraudsters. This ever-changing environment keeps this team busy! Because member safety is always top of mind, they rely on other CCCU departments and branches to openly communicate with them with any questions or for guidance. Meet the wonderful FRAMLiance team members who are fighting fraud every day:
Brittany Arima, Lending Quality Analyst
“I started at CCCU on the Tenaya teller line. After a year, I moved to loan operations, and later transferred to compliance. I enjoy reading, writing, and hanging out with friends.” Her top three favorite books are: Mistborn, Little Women, and Harry Potter.
Keri Bach, Director of Compliance
“I’m a lifetime learner. It was during my time as an underwriter that I obtained my MBA and multiple compliance and auditing certifications. Something I want to fix is adversity to change.” Keri’s favorite quote: “Accountability breeds response-ability” – Stephen Covey
Debbie Edillon, FRAML Manager and BSA Officer
“One of my core values is integrity. I have a sign in my office that says: Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching.” Debbie enjoys podcasts and her current favorites are: Verdict with Ted Cruz, The Ben Shapiro Show, and My Favorite Murder.
Robert Encinas, Account Compliance Specialist
“I started working at CCCU on the teller line. Knowledge is power so the more I learned, the more I could excel and help my fellow co-workers. When not at work, I enjoy hanging out with friends, and attending concerts or racing events.” Robert’s favorite line: “I always knew I’d never reach perfection, and if I ever did then I wasn’t trying hard enough. Because there is always something more to reach for.” – We Came as Romans
Alicia Hardin, Account Compliance Specialist
“I love the fact that CCCU is local. I am a born and raised local myself and it feels great to serve the community. In my role, I love to find solutions to help streamline processes and create a standard by which it can be evaluated.” Alicia’s favorite book is A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess.
Nicole Hill, CFCI, FRAML Support Specialist
“I have a Master’s degree in Administration of Justice and Security, a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, and a certificate in Basic Applied Forensic Science and Crime Analysis. I am also a Certified Financial Crime Investigator and I am currently working on becoming a Certified Fraud Examiner. I like being able to put my skills and education to the test, plus work with an amazing team!” Nicole’s favorite quote is: “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind” – Dr. Seuss
Thank you FRAMLiance for everything you do for CCCU!

CCCU Makes Planning for the Future Possible
|
|
|
Jade Giles, a permitting technician for the Clark County Water Reclamation District, knows that he and his family can rely on CCCU to help them with whatever future financial obstacles come their way.
They moved to the Valley in 2015 and joined the credit union in 2016. “We were coming out of a bankruptcy and we needed a car,” says Jade. “My uncle is a member and suggested we reach out for a refi and a better payment. We were skeptical at first but joined and got just what we were looking for!”
Their experience with Clark County Credit Union has been more than they expected from a financial institution. “CCCU doesn’t feel like one of those corporate banks,” Jade said. “You talk to real people who want to help, and they don’t judge you. They provide good advice and a variety of options.”
Jade and his family have enjoyed their interactions with CCCU so much that they recommend the credit union to others. Jade says, “My parents bank with you guys now and we will tell whoever is in need of an account to head to Clark County Credit Union.”
Jade and his wife have three kids, so when CCCU disburses the annual bonus dividend they have their future in mind. “It’s great to get something back,” says Jade. “We have three kids to get through college and probably 2 or 3 weddings. We keep the Dividend in savings and keep it rolling.”
Thank you Jade, and family, for your membership with Clark County Credit Union. We are excited to help you plan for your family’s future.

Ronald McDonald House Fun Run
|
|
|
For the second year in a row, the CCCU Cares committee invited employees and their families to participate in the annual Runnin’ for the House 5k run and 1-mile fun walk. This event, hosted by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas, is to benefit families that travel to Las Vegas for their children to receive medical treatment. Because of the stay-at-home orders, and social distancing, the event was virtual this year. Employees who participated ran or walked in their neighborhoods and communities. CCCU had 33 registrants who participated with their families, dogs, and loved ones. Together, with our Las Vegas community, over $81,000 was raised for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

CCCU's 69th Annual Meeting Recap
|
|
|
For the first time ever, CCCU held a virtual annual meeting broadcast from our Tenaya branch on April 16 and led by our Chairman of the Board, Eric Jorgenson. Due to current social distancing requirements, members, employees, board and audit committee members joined together online to receive an update on the credit union’s current financial health, along with a summary of our 2019 highlights and a look ahead at 2020.
One such highlight was the Bonus Dividend which returned $3.6 million in cash back to our members, bringing the grand total to more than $66 million since we first began the distribution in 2001.
Another bright spot in 2019 was being recognized as the top credit union in Nevada for returning the most value to our members. CCCU was given this honor in part because of the value of the Bonus Dividend but also due to our commitment to you, our member.
Please note that a digital version of the annual report is available upon request and hard copies are also kept in each of our branches.
The Board of Directors would like to thank our members for their dedication to Clark County Credit Union and together, we will achieve another successful year!
